Alumni comments:
"CFS was (and still is) an amazing learning environment for emerging filmmakers."
"Looking back it was most definitely a combination of my own initiative and my CFS training that got me where I am today. I earn a very healthy living as an on-set dresser and have been working steadily on full budget union features for nearly 4 years."
"I wouldn't have gotten so far so fast in Los Angeles without all of the information I learned over the years from CFS. I have visited some of the top schools in Los Angeles and CFS is by far a better, cheaper and faster way to get into the film and television industry.
Thanks CFS!"
"Before attending the school, I had a chance to be on a Ron Howard set and work one major motion picture in which I quickly realized: I needed an education. The best place for me to go in Colorado was the film program that Frederic Lahey directed. I met and connected with teachers I really appreciated like Ric Waite, Don Baer, Scott Van-O, Geoff Chadwick and many others. These teachers were knowledgable [sic] and professional. I learned a lot from them and cold still could learn a lot from them. The school gave me a real chance to use their facilities and equipment to explore my storytelling ability. One thing I loved most of all was that the school itself had a very professional feel. It was small enough that I felt cared for and large enough to connect with many other filmmakers in training. Living in Los Angeles now, I'm still friends with some of my buddies from school, and we work professionally on projects together."
"The training and education supported me through my most recent projects like a feature documentary, TV series and web media projects."
"The Colorado Film School is the best place to get real results from real film and video professionals. I owe most of my professional experience to the teachers, facility, equipment and classes at the Colorado Film School."
"You get out of it what you put into it, CFS was a good place to find like minded people in Colorado. The key to success for me was working with as many people as possible on as many films as humanly possible."
"The training I received at CFS was outstanding! I've been employed as a videographer/ editor at a television station for a little over four years. Unfortunately, I only use about ten percent of what I learned at CFS. The school is excellent! The staff, equipment, and facility are all outstanding. I think the best decision I made was to attend CFS."
"The training I received through CFS has been invaluable. In-depth education across the gamut of filmmaking - from writing to lighting to acting to directing to editing, and beyond - has given me a broader understanding of (and skill in) filmmaking than many other film programs provide. No matter which aspect of film I am working in at any given time, the knowledge I have across the broader spectrum informs and deepens my skills. I have both a wide range of skills in every area of filmmaking, and even more focused skills in writing and directing. It was a well-rounded education, and it is serving me well."
"I love the school with all my heart and soul and I still endorse to my dying day. I feel the faculty as well as the student body of that institution is way above par and I am glad to be... an Alumni... of CFS."
"The courses I enrolled in and the knowledge I gained from CFS assisted me in my MFA from the American Film Institute."
"I would not have gotten my previous job at Starz Entertainment had it not been for my training at CFVI."
"There were always passionate instructors."
"I am very happy with the education I receive through the Colorado Film School."
"I want to thank all my instructors at the Colorado Film School for your support and encouragement. I know I would not be in my current position if it had not been for my education at CFS."
"I was in the advanced immersion program and graduated in 2008. I had previous industry experience and education; but had been away from serious filmmaking for a considerable stretch of time. Considering the cost, the amount of material covered, the pace of the program, the quality of the instruction and the sheer speed of enlightenment; I would say that it was an extraordinary value for someone in my circumstances (with only about a year to spare being away from work). I made terrific networking connections, life long friends and walked away with an enhanced and balanced skill set that serves me well in any filmic milieu."
"The hands on aspect of the school definitely helped me."
"More than anything, I love the faculty at CFS, who I feel are genuinely interested in the success of the students."
"I learned a lot about the industry, and use skills and knowledge I obtained every day."
"Although indirectly, CFS did help me get started in the media industry via the countless hands-on experiences I received while working on many student projects throughout my studies at CFS."
