REGISTRATION

The Colorado Film School is glad to help you with your educational goals. To ensure a smooth registration process, please follow the steps below.

STEP 1 - ADMISSION

New students and students returning to CCA after an absence of 12 months or more must complete the Application for Admission online at the CCA website and submit it to the Admissions & Registration office. You will automatically be admitted to CCA if you are 16 years or older. Special application procedures are available if you are under 16 years of age.

High school juniors and seniors (16 years of age and older) may take courses and earn credit at CCA through the Colorado Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act. To take part in this exciting program, contact the Advising Center at 303-360-4797 for information on how to enroll.

Students under 16 years of age who are not applying for admissions under the Colorado Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act must contact the Advising Center at 303-360-4797 for special instructions and enrollment options.

STEP 2 - ASSESSMENT

Assessment of basic skills is required for all incoming students to Colorado Community Colleges. Persons planning to enroll at the Community College of Aurora must take the assessment test before registering for classes. This assessment will measure abilities in writing, reading, mathematics, and study skills. Generally, there is no "passing score". Scores are related to levels of knowledge and help to determine the best placement in courses so that students will be successful.

Your assessment scores may affect your admission to certain programs or courses. If your assessment scores place you into preparatory courses, you will be required to take those courses. For best results, discuss your scores with an academic advisor.

Students who meet one of the following criteria are exempt from assessment:

1. A degree from an accredited college or university.

2. Successful previous college credit (a grade of C or better) in freshman English composition and college algebra.

3. Acceptable SAT or ACT scores taken within the last 2 years.

4. Enrollment in only one course for either employment enhancement or personal enjoyment.

Students must document their exemption through transcripts diplomas, SAT or ACT scores, and contact an academic advisor before registering.

Assessment is offered on a drop-in basis throughout the semester. There will be no fee for the test.

STEP 3 - ADVISING

An initial advising session is required for all new students. Advising is extremely beneficial for both new and continuing students to ensure a clear educational path. Advisors help you achieve your goals by explaining your assessment results, answering your questions about classes and programs, reviewing your past, current and proposed coursework, and guiding you through your educational play.

Advisors are available throughout the school year. Contact your advisor to discuss your major, plan your transfer to a four-year college, ask general questions about your academic progress, plan for subsequent semesters and receive referrals to appropriate resources.

STEP 4 - REGISTRATION

Registration is available on campus at Student Services after completing steps 1-3.

Call 303-825-2747 for phone registration.

Go to the CCA website for online registration.
